Allison + Jacob

An Intimate “I Do”

“Sometimes the most beautiful weddings are the ones that happen quietly, with just the people who matter most.”

When Plans Change, Love Stays the Same.

Allison and Jacob had planned a full wedding—guests, dancing, everything. But like so many couples in 2020, the pandemic had other ideas. Just weeks before their big day, they made the difficult decision to postpone.

But rather than wait indefinitely, they did something beautifully intentional: they shifted to a private wedding with only immediate family present in January of 2021.

And honestly? It couldn’t have been more perfect.

Allison grew up in a small southern Indiana town, but her sense of adventure has always been anything but small. In college, she met Jacob—a fellow explorer at heart—and sparks flew. They shared a love for the unknown, new experiences, and spontaneous road trips.

They also shared an unshakable bond. Over the years, they’ve weathered distance, life transitions, and now, the unpredictability of planning a wedding during a global pandemic.

We joke that Allison is a little high-maintenance—but she’ll be the first to tell you that’s true (and we say it with total love). What we quickly learned is that her confidence, attention to detail, and strong sense of self are part of what make her so magnetic.

And Jacob? He is steady, kind, and absolutely smitten with her. He’s the kind of person who brings calm to any room—and brings out the very best in Allison.

Watching them together is like watching opposites that somehow just fit. They balance each other perfectly.

Their January ceremony was small, but full of love. Tucked into a cozy venue with their immediate families, Allison and Jacob said “I do” surrounded by the people who had been cheering them on from the beginning.

It may not have been the original plan, but it ended up being deeply personal—and incredibly moving.

Since the wedding, life has taken them across the map. They’re now living in San Francisco, near Jacob’s family, and have already checked multiple countries off their travel bucket list.

Their life together is exactly what they dreamed of—filled with adventure, love, and a whole lot of joy.
