Nestled in the heart of Lyons, Colorado, Riverbend offered exactly what they envisioned—serenity, natural beauty, and a backdrop that felt like it belonged to their story. Red rocks towering around them, cottonwoods swaying overhead, and the soft rush of the river nearby… it was the kind of place that instantly slows your heartbeat and makes the whole world feel a little more magical.
And that’s exactly the energy of their wedding day: effortless, joyful, and centered on what mattered most.
Sonja and Alex are the definition of laid-back spirit. Sonja is warm, grounded, and full of quiet confidence—the sort of person who makes everyone around her feel at ease. Alex brings a steady, calming presence that perfectly complements her. Together, they radiate a kind of connection that feels unforced and deeply natural, like two people who have always been meant to share a life.
From the start, they knew their celebration wasn’t going to be about extravagance or spectacle. It was about family, friends, laughter, and soaking in every moment with the people they love most. And that’s exactly how their day unfolded. Especially with a special appearance by their fur baby, Pretzel!
They exchanged their vows in the warm Colorado air, surrounded by the sound of the river and the smiling faces of their closest people. Their ceremony was one for the books. We have never heard so many laughs and witness the type of audience participation that Sonja’s brother induced that day. He was the perfect officiant for their ceremony.
The rest of the evening felt like an easy, joyful gathering. Guests mingled in the lawn, shared stories, embraced the mountain air, and celebrated the couple with genuine excitement. There was no rush, no pressure—only connection, presence, and the kind of laughter that carries long into the night.
Sonja and Alex’s wedding wasn’t just beautiful—it was intentional. It reflected who they are together: relaxed, authentic, and endlessly devoted to the people in their world.
